7. Accuracy and No Professional Advice

The website and its content are provided for general informational, academic, and policy discussion purposes only. Nothing on the website constitutes legal advice, policy advice, investment advice, professional advice, or a substitute for independent expert consultation.

No lawyer-client, advisor-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship is created by your use of the website or by communication with the Organization through the website unless expressly agreed in a separate written engagement.

Council for Policy Review is an organization striving to conserve its principles as stated in the vision statement of the organization, and any personal opinion of any contributor, employee, consultant, or other personnel employed, consulted, or volunteering for Council for Policy Review does not reflect the visions of the organization.

8. No Reliance

While we strive for accuracy and quality, Council for Policy Review does not warrant that any content is complete, accurate, current, uninterrupted, or error-free. You are responsible for independently evaluating any information before relying on it for legal, policy, academic, professional, or commercial purposes.

9. Accounts and Registrations

Some features may require registration or submission of information, including for newsletters, events, applications, subscriptions, downloads, or restricted materials.

Where registration is required, you agree to:

  • provide accurate, current, and complete information;
  • keep your information updated;
  • maintain the confidentiality of your credentials; and
  • accept responsibility for activity occurring under your account.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate any account where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or where misuse, fraud, or security risks exist.

10. Submissions and User Materials

If you submit comments, correspondence, proposals, applications, manuscripts, abstracts, job materials, fellowship materials, event questions, survey responses, or other materials to us (collectively, “Submissions”), you represent and warrant that:

  • you have the right to submit them;
  • they do not violate any law or third-party right;
  • they are not knowingly false, fraudulent, or misleading; and
  • they do not contain harmful code or malicious content.

Unless a separate written agreement between the submitter and Council for Policy Review provides otherwise, you grant the Organization a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to receive, review, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and otherwise use the Submission to the extent reasonably necessary to:

  • evaluate it;
  • administer our programs and operations;
  • communicate with you;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • protect our rights; and
  • where relevant, publish or disseminate accepted material.

Submission does not guarantee review, acceptance, response, publication, employment, funding, affiliation, or selection.

11. Events and Public Programs

If you register for or attend an event, webinar, roundtable, lecture, workshop, or public program organized or hosted by us:

  • additional event-specific rules may apply;
  • we may change speakers, schedules, venues, formats, or logistics where reasonably necessary;
  • public events may be recorded, streamed, photographed, transcribed, or reported unless stated otherwise; and

If an event is designated confidential, off the record, invitation-only, or subject to special participation rules, those event-specific rules will prevail for that event.

12. Applications, Recruitment, and Opportunities

The website may permit applications for employment, internships, fellowships, grants, collaborations, publications, or other opportunities. Submission of an application does not create any right to selection, interview, review, employment, funding, publication, or affiliation.

Separate rules, selection criteria, confidentiality notices, and contractual terms may apply to any such process.

13. Donations, Payments, and Paid Services

If the Organization accepts donations, registration fees, subscriptions, publication fees, or other payments through the website, you agree to provide valid, current, and authorized payment information.

Payment transactions may be processed by third-party providers and are also subject to those providers’ terms and policies. We reserve the right to reject, suspend, cancel, or refund transactions where fraud, illegality, pricing error, technical error, sanctions, compliance concerns, or misuse is reasonably suspected.

14. Third-Party Links and Services

The website may contain links to third-party websites, journals, repositories, social media platforms, payment providers, event platforms, or partner institutions. These links are provided for convenience only.

We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party website or service. Access to any third-party site is at your own risk.

15. Website Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, withdraw, restrict, or discontinue any part of the website or services at any time, with or without notice, for maintenance, security, legal, operational, or other reasons.

We are not liable if all or any part of the website is unavailable at any time.

16. Monitoring and Enforcement

We may monitor use of the website to the extent reasonably necessary for security, compliance, performance, fraud prevention, and enforcement of these Terms.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to remove content, suspend access, preserve records, disclose relevant information where legally required or reasonably necessary, and take any lawful action to protect the Organization, users, contributors, staff, systems, or rights.

17. Copyright and Rights Complaints

If you believe material on the website infringes your copyright or other legal rights, please send a written notice to contact@crpreview.org with sufficient detail to identify:

  • the work or right claimed;
  • the allegedly infringing material;
  • the basis of your claim;
  • your contact information; and
  • any supporting documents reasonably necessary to review the complaint.

We may remove or restrict access to challenged material while reviewing the matter.

18. Privacy

Your use of the website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and all content and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

The Organization disclaims all express and implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, and security.

We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of harmful components, or compatible with every device, browser, or system.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Council for Policy Review, its trustees, directors, officers, employees, fellows, researchers, consultants, contractors, affiliates, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, opportunity, business, or reputation, arising out of or relating to your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website or services.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it shall be limited to the minimum extent permitted by applicable law.

21. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organization and its trustees, directors, officers, employees, researchers, fellows, contractors, affiliates, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, penalties, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to:

  • your breach of these Terms;
  • your misuse of the website or services;
  • your Submissions;
  • your violation of any law; or
  • your violation of any third-party right.

22. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the website or services at any time, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe that:

  • you have violated these Terms;
  • your use presents legal, regulatory, security, or reputational risk; or
  • such action is necessary to protect the Organization or others.

Provisions which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, privacy, governing law, and dispute resolution.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the website after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Subject to any mandatory law to the contrary, any court of Bangladesh competent to try shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the website.

25. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

26. No Waiver

No failure or delay by the Organization in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy.
